So, having just received payment for my first piece of commissioned artwork, I'm feeling pretty good about myself. Stephen King once said that in order to be a successful writer you needed to write something, get paid for what you wrote, and use that money the pay a bill. Extending that logic to other mediums, I guess I'm now a successful artist.
I'm not sure how much demand there is for 3D art commissions, what to charge, or where my quality falls in line with other artists who do them. I did 9 pics for this one and got about $8 a pic, though I've seen people charging upwards of $25+ for RPG character portraits. I'd like to take on more commissions to earn a little extra money on the side, don't want to overcharge for my work, but don't want to sell myself short either.
Suggestions or comments welcomed.
